It's my 1000th post, and we're celebrating
What better way to celebrate than a flashback to one of the best games of 2019.
The final round of the 2019 Oceania U20 Championship games at Bond University, Fiji v Japan followed by Australia v New Zealand for the trophy.
Australia had only defeated New Zealand once before (2016) since the Oceania U20s Championship started in 2014, but had never won the Championship title.
Australia started strongly, and went into half time leading 12-0 with 4 penalties from the boot of Will Harrison.
The home team continued to dominate in the second half, and tries to Triston Reilly and Captain Fraser McReight wrapped up a historic victory.
The Junior Wallabies backed up their good form at the Junior World Cup later in the year, making the Cup final, only to losing by a point to the defending Champions, France.
In the earlier game, Japan and Fiji played a highly entertaining game, with Fiji with a strong fightback for the win

On This Day: 5th May 2015 - Oceania U20s
2015 Oceania U20 Round 2 games at Bond University, New Zealand v Samoa followed by Australia v Japan
Samoa tested the Junior All Blacks, but two tries 2 Dillon Hunt, as well as tries to Anton Liernert-Brown and Wes Goosen saw the Kiwis home.
Australia survived a scare from Japan, and only sealed the game in the last 10 minutes. Lukhan Saiakao-Loto scored 2 tries, with Harry Nucifora, Jack Reddan and Alex Newsome also scoring.
Final scores:
Australia 47 defeated Japan 31
New Zealand 36 defeated Samoa 14
On This Day: 6th May 2017 - Oceania U20s
2017 Oceania U20 Round 3 at Bond University, with Fiji v Samoa, followed by Australia v New Zealand.
No celebrations for the Aussies here, with New Zealand being too strong, winning their 3rd consecutive title.
For New Zealand Luke Jacobson and Will Jordan scored 2 tries each. For Australia Harry Nucifora was the sole points scorer, with 2 penalty goals.

New Zealand 43 defeated Australia 6
Samoa 39 defeated Fiji 29
On This Day: 7th May 2016 - Oceania U20s
The 2016 Oceania U20 Rugby Championship was a shorter competition with just Australia and New Zealand competing.
Game 1 was a 30-10 win for New Zealand
Game 2 was a nail -biter, with the game coming down to the wire.
The Junior Wallabies had been ahead 22-3 with about 20 minutes to go, before 3 quick tries put the All Blacks in front. Mack Mason cooly kicked the penalty for the win after the siren.
The Australian tries were scored by Simon Kennewell, Izack Rodda and Joey Fittock, and Mack Mason kicked 4 from 5
New Zealand's points came from tries to Caleb Makene, Sam Nock and Jonah Lowe, and Jordie Barrett kicked 4/4.
With the series tied 1-1, New Zealand retained the Championship.

On This Day: 9th May 2015 - Oceania U20s
2015 Oceania U20 Round 3 games at Bond University, Japan v Samoa followed by Australia v New Zealand
New Zealand started strongly in the Championship decider, leading Australia 26 - 8 at half-time. 3 tries in the second half by the Junior Wallabies improved the score line, but still a comfortable win for the Junior All Blacks.
Try-scorers for Australia were Joey Fittock, Duncan Paia'aua, Sam Croke and Jack McCalman, and 4 goals for Andrew Deegan.
For New Zealand, try scorers were Blake Gibson 2, Mitchell Hunt, Tinoai Faiane, Anton Lienert-Brown, Vince Aso, & Taukiha Koloamatangi.
Final scores:
Samoa 33 defeated Japan 30
New Zealand 46 defeated Australia 29
