In early February 2018, Tropical Cyclone Gita devastated Tonga causing extensive damage and 2 deaths, as well as causing damage and flooding in Samoa, Fiji and New Zealand.
As a side effect, Cyclone Gita caused the largest surf on the Gold Coast for several years. Below are some photos of some of the action at Snapper Rocks
